LHC rap

Dr S. m'a transféré ça... et franchement, l'idée me plait...

Alors voici Kate McAlpine, une thésarde de la Michigan State University détachée au Cern, et son clip vidéo qui fait un tabac sur Internet : le "Large Hadron Rap".

I am convinced LHC will teach us things, but it will take time. It will not run at full power before 2 years and then they will have to colect lots of data before doing all sort of things with them in order to use them as any sort of proof.
In the mean time, the mad scientists have started to think about the next generation accelerator which will be far bigger and far more energetic.
They will just never stop ;-)

Très intéressant. Très mignon. :-)

It looks like the big proton smasher will have to be stopped for the next two months because of "faulty electrical connection between two magnets" that needs to be fixed.

I have been very interested to read about the project over the past year. My understanding is that the scientists will try to discover the theoretical 'higgs boson'. If they can't find it, maybe they will have to rethink some parts the standard model on particle physics.

I cannot figure out who was smart enough to figure out the technology to smash, observe and measure the mass of the such small particles! These people are obviously way smarter than accoutants :-).

More exciting than dark matter or anti-matter is that possibility that scientists could discover the theoretical tachyon particles that might travel faster than the speed of light! I am fascinated by that idea...

Do you think big collider will teach us new things?

CMH
